“It’s time for a fresh, energetic leader to ensure the voices of our Plymouth families and small businesses are heard in the fall elections. As an involved and passionate Plymouth resident and small business owner, I can no longer sit on the sidelines. It’s time to get to work.”
Walker filed his candidacy Friday, January 25, along with fellow Democrat candidates who will be on the ballot in the fall.
“We have an incredible slate of strong and qualified candidates for 2019. We’ve been intentional about planning for this election and seeking the best candidates to bring on the team that will be an asset to our community. I look forward to working to grow Plymouth into a thriving city known for innovation, culture, and economic growth.”
Some of the issues Walker is focused on include job retention and creation, arts and culture, infrastructure, innovation and technology, and transparency. Walker’s goal is to make Plymouth a stronger economic and cultural hub for families, businesses, and visitors. “When I was in combat in Baghdad, my fellow soldiers knew I had their back in every situation, and I knew they had mine. Our lives depended on that support and loyalty to one another. As Mayor of Plymouth, I will bring that same attitude and service to the City of Plymouth, its residents, and businesses.”
